The McMinn Virtual Program (MVP) offers students a unique opportunity to engage in a flexible, online learning environment. To ensure success, this program requires a collaborative effort between students, parents, and the school. By signing this commitment contract, all parties acknowledge their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a productive and supportive educational experience.

Commitment to Success

By enrolling in the McMinn Virtual Program, students and parents agree to the following:

1. Commitment to Academic Responsibility

Students:

I will complete all assigned coursework on time and maintain a strong work ethic.
I will actively engage in online lessons, participate in virtual class activities, and ask for help when needed.
I will maintain regular communication with my teachers and advisors.
I will uphold the academic integrity of the program, refraining from cheating or plagiarism.

Parents:

I will support my child in creating a dedicated space for online learning, ensuring access to necessary technology.
I will check my child’s progress regularly and communicate with teachers when needed.
I will encourage my child to stay organized and adhere to deadlines.
I will work with the school to address any academic concerns or challenges.

2. Commitment to Attendance & Engagement

Students:

I will attend all virtual classes, logging in on time and actively participating in discussions and activities.
I will keep up with assigned work, including participating in scheduled assessments and assignments.

Parents:

I will ensure that my child maintains consistent attendance, reporting any absences to the school promptly.
I will encourage my child to actively engage in the virtual classroom, understanding the importance of participation in the learning process.

3. Commitment to Technology Use

Students:

I will use technology responsibly and follow all guidelines for online behavior as provided by the McMinn Virtual Program.
I will notify the school if I encounter any technical difficulties or lack the resources necessary to complete my work.

Parents:

I will ensure my child has access to the required technology and a reliable internet connection.
I will help my child troubleshoot minor technical issues and contact the school if there are ongoing problems.

4. Commitment to Behavioral Expectations

Students:

I will demonstrate respect for teachers, classmates, and all individuals in the online learning community.
I will adhere to the behavior standards and expectations set forth by the McMinn Virtual Program, both in academic and social interactions.

Parents:

I will support my child in maintaining appropriate online behavior and guide them in making responsible decisions.
I will address any behavior concerns promptly with the school, fostering an environment of mutual respect.

5. Commitment to Communication

Students:

I will communicate openly with my teachers and parents regarding any academic or personal challenges I may encounter during the program.

Parents:

I will maintain open lines of communication with the McMinn Virtual Program staff, addressing any concerns about my child's progress or well-being.
I will actively check emails, messages, and other communication platforms to stay informed about my child’s academic progress and school updates.

6. Commitment to Meeting Deadlines

Students:

I will manage my time effectively and meet all deadlines for assignments, quizzes, and exams.
If I need additional time or help, I will proactively reach out to my teachers or school staff.

Parents:

I will support my child in maintaining a healthy balance between academic responsibilities and personal well-being.
I will ensure my child has access to all necessary resources to meet deadlines, including assistance with time management if needed.

Agreement:

By signing below, we indicate our commitment to enrollment in the McMinn Virtual Program and acknowledge that we have read and understand the expectations set forth in this commitment contract. We agree to uphold the responsibilities outlined in order to create a successful and positive learning experience in the McMinn Virtual Program.
