Payroll Procedures
Payroll procedures shall be as follows:
1. All part-time McMinn County Board of Education employees will be paid monthly based on payroll reporting periods determined by the school calendar.
2. Paydays will be monthly on the 15th of the month for all MCS employees.
3. MCS Employees will be paid via electronic deposit to the account provided on the MCS Direct Deposit Authorization Agreement.
4. Due to administrative processing times, the first payroll check after being hired may be issued as a physical check rather than direct deposit.
5. If there is a change of banking institutions, a physical payroll check may be issued. If the payday falls on a weekend or a holiday observed by the McMinn County Finance Office, MCS employees will be paid on the last business day prior to the weekend or holiday observed by the McMinn County Finance Office. No requests for advance payments of salary shall be made. Upon resignation or retirement of school personnel, final salary payment shall be made on the employee’s regular payroll period and can be withheld until all records and assets in custody of the employee are satisfactorily transferred to his successor or another designated person. Specific approval by the Board is required for payroll deductions, except as otherwise provided by law. Employee payroll dates will be on the 15th of the month. MCBOE-Payroll Procedures 2.802
